Can I really complain about complaining too much?
I have come to a recent conclusion that I (and probably you too) complain too much. We complain about the rain, the sun, the wind, the stillness. We complain about work, about being bored. We complain about too much noise or not enough noise. I'm tired of it though.
I'm thankful and want to be more vocal about it. I am thankful for the rain because God is refreshing the parched ground, giving the flowers what they need to bloom and show us their beauty, making sure our farms produce enough crops to feed us, and cleaning all the grime off the surface. I am thankful for the sun and blue skies, for cold days with hot chocolate, and hot days with iced tea. I'm thankful for the music coming through the speakers and the silence that makes room for my thoughts.
This morning I saw a blind man waiting for the bus with a guide dog. How kind is it that God made animals that are smart enough to guide people who don't have the blessing we do of eyes that function properly?
I hope that as I go through these next days I will be more quick to praise God for the way he provides the seasons (Spring begins tomorrow!), sustains this world, and gives us blessings like music, guide dogs, and flowers (I can't wait for the blooms to begin!).
Let's open our eyes, see the blessings around us and be thankful!
